About Us
Background and Development
KOPUN & Kopun d.o.o., was founded in 1990, at the very beginning of private entrepreneurship development in the Republic of Croatia.
Its founders are Mr. Vladimir Kopun MSEc with the rich consulting knowledge and experience of the adviser and M/s Dubravka Kopun with her long-year experience in the operations and leading of the accounting and finances.
The main activity of the KOPUN & Kopun firm was developed in rendering counselling services with the application of the Act on the Transformation of Socially Owned Enterprises, participating in the preparation of numerous studies on the value estimate of socially owned enterprises and the program of transformation.
In parallel with the development of society, accounting office starts with its operations, rendering services of accounting to newly formed private companies in domestic ownership, but also to ever growing number of investors.
Following international business experiences, and making efforts to meet the needs of our foreign clients, we are the first in the Republic of Croatia to develop the service of payroll accounts with especial data protection in case of managers.
When the Audit Act was adopted, in 1993, we established KOPUN Revizije d.o.o., a company specialised in providing the services of audit.
In the mentioned period, we became also one of the founders of the Stock Exchange of Zagreb, acting through KOPUN Group also as one of the first broker companies in the Republic of Croatia.
At the invitation of IAA - the International Association of Accounting Companies, we became the member of this network in 1995, which grew, in 1997, out into AGN, International Association of Independent Consulting and Audit Companies in more than 90 countries of the world, and whose member is our company, presently the only company from the Republic of Croatia.
The membership in this association enabled us during all those years to acquire international knowledge and experience at the domain of accounting, audit and taxes, especially from International Financial Reporting Standards and International Audit Standards. Through AGN International we participate at numerous professional seminars and educational events that are organised by the association, but we also establish the cooperation with numerous foreign companies.
At the second half of nineties, after terminated war and more intensive entry of foreign companies into our country, we start offering a new type of service, the "due diligence" in RH, and "in-depth scanning of companies" through our engagement by the French company of Lesaffre with takeover of yeast production from Pliva and Podravka. Up-till-now we have participated in some hundred acquisitions, mergers and due diligence procedures.
